Today on Facebook, I saw a friend posting about a error generated by a late night of work had narrowly been averted. Luckily, the digital print service actually caught the error (trim lines being left in a flattened file submitted for print) in time. Their awesome ninja customer service skills noticed the oversight AND cared enough to contact the customer! Who is this great company? Simply Color Lab
So, it got me thinking about all the crazy things that happen to WAHM and small business owners. There must be SO many instances where lack of sleep has caused some havoc or unplanned results to YOU too! Of those, surely some must be worth sharing for fun or just to share. After all, our friend Terry (@SassyDesignsInc) is up to number 107!!! Note to self: ask if we can share this list if it’s been blogged already or if it’s a mental note… My mental notes usually only go up to two or there and then get purged automatically after fifteen minutes.
On to the Top Ten Reasons Against Working late (not in descending order–Thx WordPress #fail!)
- You’ve realized that household coffee makers won’t cut it anymore and have considered upgrading to a commercial coffee machine.
- You’ve forgotten what it feels like to sleep a full night. (anything greater than four hours would now qualify).
- Your home power bill starts to grow with computer equipment and coffee makers running twenty-four / seven days a week. Your neighbors notice the lights on ALL the time if they happen to wake up in the middle of the night.
- The night shift is hard! Well, working a night shift might not be too bad if it were not followed by a day shift. It’s a good night of work if we’re able to get a lot done AND get some sleep before the sun rises and/or our son wakes up.
- You start doing “head bobs” at the computer. Technically, they’re called microsleeps where sleep occurs for a fraction of a second to several minutes. We’ve all had them, but when you start telling yourself that it’s ok not to upgrade the computer because it gives you a minute to sleep while that PhotoShop action gets applied…
